Mitre 10 continues to dominate the NZ DIY & Garden retail market through both its market share and number of stores throughout the country - you can be part of our continuing success by joining the team at Mitre 10 Whakatane.

This role is within our Garden Centre where you will be recommending products, solutions, and inspiration to our customers for a range of products including indoor foliage, budding fruit trees, little baby seedlings and more with all sorts of garden care queries along the way.

Your daily duties will include:

- Assisting customers with plant selection, gardening advice, and product recommendations
- Maintaining healthy plant stock and tidy displays
- Unloading and stocking all the new goodies that arrive in store
- Is a keen gardener ready to share their knowledge
- Has the ability to work within a team environment as well as alone
- Is physically fit as there will be prolonged standing and ladder use. Some heavy lifting is also required
- Has enthusiasm and team spirit
- Enjoys interacting with people and is customer focused
- Has a passion for customer service excellence
- Has good time management
- Has a quick and alert mind, with the ability to adapt and be flexible
- Has a willingness to learn

This is a fixed-term position until Jan 2026 to cover our busy Spring period, working Friday to Monday, with a maximum of 30 hours per week.
