Lead the Infrastructure Backbone of NZ’s Digital Future

If you’re an experienced operational leader who thrives on driving delivery, navigating complexity, and managing critical infrastructure, this role is for you. As the Infrastructure Operations Delivery Manager at Chorus, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the seamless allocation and implementation of space, power, and connectivity to support our national telecommunications network.

In this position, you’ll lead a high-performing team tasked with managing requests to install equipment across a range of Chorus assets - from exchanges to radio sites and poles throughout Aotearoa. This is a delivery-focused role with real impact. You’ll oversee the end-to-end process from customer request through to build and billing, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Along the way, you’ll collaborate closely with service partners, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure delivery aligns with our strategic goals and infrastructure needs.

You’ll also bring your expertise to product development and customer engagements, supporting Chorus’ evolving service portfolio. Whether you’re guiding colocation strategy, optimising infrastructure use, or resolving complex delivery challenges, your work will directly support the services that connect people and businesses across the country.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be confident making decisions, proactive in stakeholder engagement, and comfortable working at pace across multiple functions. You’ll also have a firm grip on operational and financial performance, ensuring every project is delivered to standard, on budget, and with the customer in mind.

If you’re ready to lead with purpose, shape essential services, and work at the heart of Chorus’ network operations, we’d love to hear from you.

**Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience**

You’re someone who knows how to lead from the front, keep delivery on track, and build strong relationships across the board. You’ve likely worked in a fast-paced environment where juggling customer needs, operational demands, and team leadership is second nature.

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

- At least 5 years managing operational or service delivery teams in customer-facing roles
- Hands-on understanding of project management principles
- A proven track record of lifting team engagement and performance
- Strong communication skills across all levels of an organisation
- Familiarity with telecommunications networks, power, or building services (a bonus, but not essential)
- Confident leadership and people management abilities
- Experience overseeing infrastructure assets and managing operational data and records
- Strong background in supplier and contract management
- Awareness of telco network operations and related infrastructure
- Sound judgement when navigating legal, regulatory, and risk considerations
- Sharp commercial instincts and solid negotiation skills

Clear, concise, and effective communicator

Not sure that you meet all the requirements? If you still think you could be great for the role, we encourage you to apply
