Auckland City, New Zealand MEGA Full time

Location: Auckland NZ

**Job Type**: Full time, Permanent

*** About MEGA***:
MEGA The Privacy Company provides global services from its Head Office in New Zealand. Built with **Privacy by Design**, MEGA provides a range of zero-knowledge encrypted cloud storage and communication solutions for individuals and businesses.

We launched in 2013 and have grown to an international team of more than 200 people who are motivated by next-generation technology and design, supporting over 270 million registered users on our desktop and mobile apps across all major platforms.

Our workforce and user base are growing day by day, and we are preparing for the release of several landmark products and feature updates in the short-term future. We are looking to hire a capable, proactive Network Engineer to support this success by overseeing the smooth operation of our computer networks.

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Systems Administration Manager, you'll make an impact by:

- Monitoring and reporting on the status of our networks
- Working at pace to manage incidents and troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network issues
- Performing OS upgrades and patches to network devices
- Designing and deploying solutions to improve the efficiency and resiliency of MEGA’s current networks
- Coordinating with data centre staff to perform hardware-related tasks
- Carrying out network maintenance, as required
- Providing after-hours support, as required

This role is primarily remote but will require infrequent visits to our data centers. Please note that we run an asynchronous, hybrid-remote model at MEGA and you will need to be flexible in your working hours as you work alongside staff in different time zones.

**About you**:
You're an adaptable, self-motivated professional that enjoys getting stuck-in to all aspects of network engineering. You have a real passion for the industry and a keen awareness of the latest trends, technologies, and approaches. While you excel at working independently, you're also a team player capable of communicating effectively and sensitively with a diverse group of highly-skilled colleagues. You demonstrate MEGA’s values by taking ownership of your work and pursuing constant improvement, proactively identifying persistent or potential issues and resolving them.

A 'doer' with thorough attention to detail, you will also have:

- Proven experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on Juniper hardware
- High-level understanding of network design and architecture principles
- Experience with BGP, routers, switches, and network security devices as well as LAN and WAN technology
- Had some exposure to Linux and open-source tools
- Excellent communication skills - proficiency in verbal and written English is a must-have
- Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand company objectives and coordinate your work accordingly

**Qualifications**

Ideally, you hold a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline as well as a relevant industry-standard certification, e.g. JNCIS-SP.

**What MEGA offers**:
Along with a flexible working policy, a deliberate culture of internal development, and top-of-the-line tools, you will enjoy a competitive remuneration package.

This is a stable role within a secure but dynamic industry, providing the opportunity to work with passionate people at the forefront of their field.

With attentive leadership and an emphasis on innovation, you’ll grow alongside MEGA as we continue to cement our industry-leading position.
