**About the role**:
Maureen Pugh MP is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Executive Assistant to join their team at the Parliamentary precinct in Wellington for 32 hours per week.
You’ll be responsible for actively managing critical administrative functions for the MP, including diary management, scheduling, travel booking, meeting preparation and minute taking, coordinating administrative activities, and responding to correspondence.
You’ll be working at a high level, engaging with MPs, Ministers, and constituents in a timely manner, sometimes with limited information at hand.
**What you will bring to the role**:
You’ll have real-world experience in an EA role, ready to ensure the smooth running of the MP’s Parliamentary life.
Your calm, proactive, and flexible approach to work will help you build strong and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You’ll be someone who can anticipate the ‘what if’ question and instinctively know when to escalate issues and when not to.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure the smooth operation of the MP’s office by providing administrative support
- Plan and coordinate the MP’s diary and ensure the schedule is followed and any changes are managed promptly, with mínimal disruption to the MP
- Ensure the MP is always well briefed for each engagement in the diary
- Coordinate administrative activities in the MP’s office including those for meetings, functions and events; including overseeing the collation of invitations, and arrangement of facilities and catering

The pay band for the role starts at $72,100 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an ‘events-based’ agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. This role is based at the Parliamentary precinct for 32 hours per week.
