Job Overview & Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Due Diligence Analyst position is to investigate, review and complete customer due diligence records to aide in the detection of possible money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud using risk-based approach methods while ensuring compliance with the Bank's established Anti-Money Laundering & Countering Financing of Terrorism Programmes and Client Due Diligence Programme.

Context of Job:
The primary remit of the role is;
- Completion of CDD for our existing client ongoing CDD activities and Event Driven Reviews (EDR)
- Assist the CIU team with the completion of CDD reviews of high-risk customers
- Ongoing KYC/CDD (Know Your Customer/Customer Due Diligence) requirements for customers with an elevated risk who cannot be mitigated through standard ways of workings
- International and local regulatory requirements including, but not limited to the United States Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standards (CRS)

The position must ensure that Operational efficiencies across the KYC/CDD process are met throughout the customer lifecycle as well as to ensure that Rabobank New Zealand is compliant across all other regulatory requirements.
In Partnership with the business, Operations contributes to the sustainable profitability of Rabobank by providing quality, controlled, efficient and professional friendly services at all points of contact and through the lifecycle of the client.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Review KYC/CDD submissions from Country Banking rural branches, ROS and MAC to ensure complete documentation is provided to meet the Banks Regulatory Obligations - including but not limited to the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009
- Leveraging critical thinking and analytical assessment to ensure all conclusions and rationale to support decisions are clearly and concisely documented in the appropriate systems
- Strong Risk based decision making
- Updating client static information based off updated AOAs or Amend AOAs or CRS/FATCA obligations
- Identification of EDR triggers and completion of EDR generated file reviews
- Assisting in training of new staff
- To obtain accurate and complete data and documents in line with AML programme
- To complete periodic and event driven reviews in line with procedural guidelines
- In calling/out calling to customers to assist with completion of ongoing CDD requirements
- Data quality analysis and identification of improvement opportunities
- Identify and escalate suspicious activity
- Provide specialist assistance to the branch network for CDD completion
- Escalate any regulatory or compliance requirements to the Seniors or Managers which needs clarification which has an impact on customers or the business
- Review procedural documents to check if this meets current CDD guidelines and identify any gaps in the core system
- Able to narrate SAR’s arising from identified red flag cases
- Review and update FATCA statuses where required to ensure Rabobank New Zealand complies with the FATCA obligations to identify and report on clients who have a US tax obligation
- Review and update CRS statuses where required
- Upskill and share knowledge where required
- Ensure all forms and documents are all accurate and certified and verified to the AML programme standard
- Identify and escalate potentially suspicious activity in accordance with internal procedures
- Investigate, analyse and determine risk by Knowing our clients

Qualifications:

- ACAMS preferable

We are looking for experience with the following:

- Excellent knowledge of New Zealand and Global regulatory KYC/AML requirements
- Good knowledge of NZ regulatory environment Skills:

- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- Strong Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills; Ability to analyse complex structures to determine risk exposure and applicable KYC/AML requirements
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to act in a discrete and confidential manner
- Ability to identify required actions and deliver on commitments
- Able to work both independently and as a team player
