the Role
Christchurch
Women - s - Hospital is a purpose built facility providing tertiary level
maternity care. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated midwife to join
our senior team as Clinical Midwife Manager (ACMM) on a fixed term basis
covering parental leave, part time 0.6FTE.
- The

the organisational skills to manage the workflow in a tertiary birthing
suite and or a tertiary maternity ward.
- This
role moves between both areas of our facility and so gives those who
do it a wide range of opportunity. QLP leadership and
a commitment to working towards a post graduate qualification will be

About You
This role is a
career opportunity aimed at those midwives who love working in a secondary/
tertiary space. As the second largest maternity facility in Aotearoa and the
largest in Te Waipounamu working with our multidisciplinary team, coordinating
clinical care, flow of people/ whanau and their babies through our service
whilst also supporting our staff make this a rewarding opportunity to the right
applicant. You will have the clinical confidence to make decisions in the
after-hours management of the unit with support from the on call midwife
manager.

Women - s Hospital sits on the Christchurch Hospital campus.
This role also
supports care of hapu people from Te Tai o Poutini - our transalpine service.
We have 5 community
maternity units in the Waitaha region who occasionally also have to transfer
mama and pepi.

- Registered

with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand with a current APC.
- Strong
midwifery skills with art and science driving practice
- High
levels of clinical confidence in a secondary/ tertiary maternity
environment.
- Love
the pace of a secondary/ tertiary unit and working as part of a multi
disciplinary team
- Appreciation
of the role of LMC midwives and working alongside them by developing
strong collegial relationships
- An
understanding of the need for equity for our population and and a
willingness to respond to different ways of doing to achieve this.
- Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills Confident clinical leadership.
- Confident
decision maker and problem solver Strong organisational skills
- A
