**Interested in building your practical skills within a Food Testing lab?**

We are looking for a Technician to join our Sample Reception Team for the next 10 months to cover a Parental Leave, based at our Auckland Food Testing Laboratory in Lynfield.

The Successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the laboratory to ensure our customers' products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

**As Technician, you will be responsible for**:

- Unpacking samples on arrival,
- Registration of samples into the Laboratory system,
- Locating retention and disposal of ambient, chilled and frozen samples.
- Maintaining temperature records,
- Cleaning and keeping training records up to date.
- Assisting Customer Service and the Laboratory Technical teams with any queries.

Our laboratory operates 7 days a week the roster on offer includes at least one weekend day. The successful applicant will be working a 40 hour per week Sunday through to Thursday.

**About you**:
We would love to hear from motivated individuals with a passion for food safety and quality**.** Ideally you will have or be:

- Interested in Science or have completed food testing papers (not essential),
- Experience in Retail or Hospitality (advantageous).
- You take pride in consistently producing high quality work with strong attention to detail.
- Have a willingness to become part of a highly regulated and fast paced environment.
- Pride yourself on managing your time efficiently and able to prioritise work effectively to meet targets and deadlines
- Communication both verbally and written is clear and concise.
