The Desktop Engineer is a member of the IT Operations Team which is tasked with ensuring the availability, integrity and security of the IT internal network and infrastructure. They provide tier II support and troubleshooting of technical issues for internal end-users - including Radiologists, Radiographers, Sonographers, Call Centre, and General Administration staff, along with the Senior Management team.

The Desktop Engineer may also provide technical support for external users including Medical Specialists and Patients.

**Key responsibilities**:
You will be responsible for Operations
- Manage daily technical support incidents as they arise
- Procure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop hardware and peripherals
- Support and troubleshoot remote systems across multiple branch locations
- Support and troubleshoot phone system hardware and software
- Create and maintain a regional asset register of desktop hardware
- Re-imaging and deployment of desktop and laptop PC’s
- Procurement and maintenance of IT spares
- Initial commissioning, installation (racking) and cabling of network infrastructure devices and servers in Data Centre and Branch IT racks
- Decommissioning, secure deletion of User data and disposal of hardware no longer in service
- Network infrastructure monitoring and escalation of alerts
- Monitor and respond to alerts from endpoint malware protection system
- Support network copiers and associated backend print and scanning services
- Support clinical radiology devices and interact and liaise with Vendors as needed
- Collaborate with senior staff on problem and change management, and assist with strategic planning and project delivery as needed

**Applications**
- Manage daily support requests and incidents as they arise, with immediate resolution or by escalation to specialist support members
- Collaborate with IT Applications Team on troubleshooting incidents and requests
- Active Directory, Phone and Gmail User account creation, deletion and maintenance
- Gmail User administration - group membership, account archiving, document transfer
- ShoreTel phone system administration and maintenance
- Create and present User training documentation
- Interact and dialog with Users to identify ongoing or developing problems
