**About the Role**

The role of an Associate Charge Nurse Manager/Associate Team Leader for the Adult Community Mental Health Sector is to:

- Work within a multi-disciplinary team (clinical and non-clinical roles) in the greater Hamilton community that fosters a culture of mutual respect, safe practice and acknowledges contributions from both cultural and clinical perspectives.
- Engage and work collaboratively with all stakeholders, especially tāngata whaiora and whānau.
- Provide clinical leadership to the team as delegated by the Charge Nurse Manager/Team Leader.

**Key responsibilities of the role**:

- Mental Health and Addictions Service in the Waikato are about to embark on a transformation change to be a Māori led service. You will need to be able to embrace these changes and to support the implementation of a Māori led service within the team and the wider service
- Work with the Charge Nurse Manager/Team Leader to support and lead a well-functioning mental health and addictions community team.
- To be committed to understanding the needs of the communities that we work in and building networks within them.
- To have sound decision making skills especially in high pressure situations.

**About the Service**

We are the Mental Health and Addictions Service arm of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, Waikato. We provide specialist services for tāngata whaiora who are experiencing serious mental health difficulties. We strongly encourage family/ whānau involvement in the recovery journey of their loved ones. As a community-based service, we are open Monday to Friday and we work with community partners across the Waikato.

**About you**
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- A relevant graduate qualification and registration with relevant professional body.
- Experience with community networking and managing inter-sectoral relationships/partnerships.
- Have a passion for making a difference to the lives of tāngata whaiora and whānau.
- Display initiative and resourcefulness that will allow you to navigate the variety of challenges you could face.
- This is a challenging, diverse role which requires creativity, reliability and exceptional organisational skills.
