Manager - Human Resource

Job Details:
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for all of the facilities located in New Zealand. This position will support the HR Director Asia in the primary job duties listed below that form the focus of this position, which allows the incumbent to best serve the organization. The primary duties are as follows:
Training & Development Plan, facilitate and coordinate training activities for all HR and People Development related topics. Insure that all required annual training be completed such as International Code of Conduct, Harassment and Discrimination, etc.

2. Employee Relations

Insure compliance and practices of the company’s basic upward and downward communication vehicles to promote a work environment of trust and team member goodwill. Keep management informed of any union activity inside or outside the facility.

Turnover & Retention Improvement Conduct exit interviews of hourly and salaried personnel to insure they are being conducted properly. Assist management in the implementation of retention initiatives focused on enhancing orientation and job training processes. Coordinate and communicate with management any recommendations for developing people management skills in farm managers and supervisors. Gather and analyze turnover, retention and absenteeism data. Submit monthly staffing and turnover numbers.

4. HR

Administer the HR functions to insure that all New Zealand facilities are in compliance procedurally and consistently with governmental standards as well as Cobb policies, practices and guidelines. Review the results, discuss and make recommendation to facility management on ways to correct any issues. Responsible for all HR related documentation. Administration of all policies and procedures and the investigation and evaluation of situations involving policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include assisting in all personnel functions and making recommendations to management on issues including disciplinary actions, hiring and placements, dispute resolution, safety, compensation, benefits and training. Responsible for coordinating all benefit activities. Will assist in planning, staffing and coordination of activities to include overseeing negotiations with contracted labor.

5. Recruitment

Assist with succession planning, identify future salaried or clerical needs and plan recruitment activities accordingly. Insure that the locations have an hourly staffing model in place and recruit and staff location accordingly. Insure recruitment strategy for all positions is reviewed.

Community Relations Insure the promotion of Cobb New Zealand throughout the community. Serve in local service organization to promote Cobb New Zealand through volunteerism within the local community and encourage other members of management to do the same.

Investigations Conduct thorough investigations of all team member complaints. Provide follow-up to other department heads regarding complaint issues. Maintain a written record of all complaints.

Workers Compensation Coordinates with the Wage Board or Labor Agency for new salary updates from the New Zealand Government. Negotiates with the Manpower Agency for the admin fee and other benefits for temporary workers if there is a need for temporary workers Prepare the salaries and wages budget for Cobb New Zealand to include inflationary increase based on the projection of the from the Government Agency Treatment authorization. Treatment referrals. Billing administration. Work with legal retainer on settlement proceedings.
