Baker

Cafe Encounter is a busy and fast paced environment, with valued and diverse clientele. We are looking for an enthusiastic baker to be an integral part of our team.

We are looking for a motivated person with a positive attitude to join our kitchen team. Ideally, applicants will have experience in a similar environment and the role will include:

- freshly baking all our scones, muffins, slices and pies every day.
- working alongside our experienced Chefs to craft varied and inventive cabinet food - from yummy sandwiches and rolls to colourful salads and tasty treats.
- a focus on ensuring our baking is consistent, varied and delicious.
- supporting our Chefs to ensure our cabinet is always prepared for and responsive to customer demand; restocking each day as required.
- other general food preparation to support our Chefs with delivery of our short order menu and daily specials.
- supporting delivery of our in and out catering for small events.
- a good understanding of Kitchen Hygiene and Food & Safety Standards.

We would like to talk to applicants with a passion for baking and good simple food done well, who have good communication skills and are keen to continue to learn and develop their skills in the kitchen. Stamina and plenty of energy with a strong work ethic is essential

This role is a great lifestyle choice with daytime hours; we are open 7 days, and shifts will fall between 6.00am and 3.30pm. The roster includes some weekend working and fixed days off each week, so you can plan your downtime.

Based at our operating hub; we are more than just a café, with a retail store, gallery, conference room and marine based tours.
