We are looking for a visual designer who is a creative thinker, has a passion for learning and has a growth mindset. We need someone who is willing/able to manage design work within time and client budget, who is collaborative by nature and can travel for project work if needed. We also need someone adept at working online due to the current pandemic restrictions. You will work across many projects and utilise a variety of skills. However, to give a sense of who should apply, we are interested in the following backgrounds and knowledge/skills: **Essential** - 1 to 5 years proven industry experience - A degree or diploma qualification in visual design (graphics / visual communication) - High level of proficiency across the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly in InDesign, Illustrator and - A strong portfolio showcasing skills and passion for both editorial/document design, typography and information visualisation - An ability to visualise complex qualitative and quantitative datasets in desirable and accessible ways for others - An ability to work collaboratively as part of a team - An ability to lead conversations with clients using competent verbal communication skills - Confidence in engaging in design critique processes, as well as the ability to give and receive feedback - Willingness to take the initiative, work autonomously when required and meet deadlines - Good writing skills - Evidence of valuing and practising attention to detail - Passion for pushing creative boundaries, taking the initiative and being at the forefront of current visual design trends - Awareness of what it means to uphold the principles of the Treaty **Nice to have** - Experience in human-centred design or design thinking methods - Experience across Office 365 in using, for example, PowerPoint, Excel and Word as design tools - Experience in Procreate or other iPad illustration programmes **What will you bring?** **Integrity**: You are unwaveringly ethical and have the highest integrity, maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity in all your dealings. **Empathy**: You seek to understand the perspectives of others and are caring and compassionate in your interactions.
