**About the role**
Based at our Hastings site and reporting into the Plant Manager, this role is responsible for the provision of the day-to-day Health and Safety advice to management, employees and contractors on the Hastings site as well as driving engagement, results and ensuring accountabilities, in line with the strategic focus of the Safety function.

In addition, the role will provide advice and where necessary operational direction for Emergency Management, Risk Management and also understand, comply and where necessary enforce, company policies and practices currently in place and any new policies/practices that are implemented.

Naturally we have a safety first culture within not only our Hastings site, but all McCain manufacturing sites and offices. At the forefront of every employees minds is to work in a safe manner and this role plays a key role in ensuring that this continues to be our number one focus.

**About you**
We are ideally looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

- Experience in a similar role or a HR related role with a safety focus would be preferred.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively with team members at all levels. This includes the ability to tailor your communication style to the specific situation and audience.
- Sound logic and problem solving skills as well as the ability to work on a variety of unconnected projects with a results orientation focus to deliver.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and updating task related documentation.
