**About the Role**

We’re looking for a friendly and creative Activities Coordinator to join our team at Bupa Sunset Care Home in Blockhouse Bay.

**Hours of Work**:

- This is a Full Time, Fixed Term role covering maternity leave, running until the end of November 2025.
- You’ll work a 4 days on, 2 days off roster, with shifts from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

Your role will be to plan and run fun, engaging activities that keep our residents active, connected, and enjoying each day. From games and music to crafts, gentle exercise, and outings.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with older people and wants to make a difference. You might be studying, recently finished training, or looking for a meaningful job for the next year or so. It’s a great opportunity to build experience, try something new, or be part of a caring team in a rewarding environment.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Lead and support a team of activities assistants, ensuring activities are well-coordinated, engaging, and aligned with residents’ needs.
- Manage activity plans for residents across this 122-bed care home, with rest home, dementia and hospital levels of care.
- Plan, develop, and lead individualised activity plans for each resident based on the activity assessment outcome, their interests, and preferences.
- Ensure our valuable residents are treated with full respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.
- Maintain personal and professional development - we have on-site managers who always encourage our staff to up-skill

**Skills and Qualification**

To be successful in this role, you will enjoy a variety of work and have prior experience in this field, along with an interest in and understanding of the elderly and their needs.
- You’ll have a NZQA (or equivalent) Diversional Therapy (level 4) Certificate (or working towards a DT qualification)
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferable.
- Have a creative flair to contribute towards a full and varied activities programme and help look after our residents while creating a caring atmosphere.
- You are a caring, team player, vibrant, and energetic, with an active interest in organising activities for multiple levels of function and ability.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.
