**About the Role**
As a Respiratory Physician, you will deliver specialist care for patients with respiratory and sleep disorders across the Canterbury region. This fixed-term position covers one 3-month sabbatical and offers a rare opportunity to work within a supportive and highly skilled team of 12 Respiratory Physicians.
Your work will include inpatient, outpatient, and domiciliary care, teaching and supervising registrars and junior doctors, and contributing to clinical audit and service improvement. If applicable, you may also lead a subspecialty area in cystic fibrosis or interventional pulmonology (EBUS/medical thoracoscopy).
This is a role that directly supports people across Canterbury and the West Coast to better manage lung health and improve their quality of life.

You - ll be based in **Ōtautahi | Christchurch**, a vibrant city offering a fantastic lifestyle with easy access to mountains, beaches, and outdoor activities.
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold (or be eligible for) specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- Be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or have an equivalent international qualification.
- Have recent Senior Medical Officer-level experience in managing acute respiratory patients.
- Ideally have subspecialty training in cystic fibrosis or interventional pulmonology.
