**About the Role**

This position is based at Thames Hospital. Your role as part of the team, is to provide quality assessment and deliver safe and clinically effective interventions to support our patients. You'll have the opportunity to assess and treat a wide range of conditions with surgical, orthopaedic, medical, neurological needs as well as manage a caseload of rehab patients, including stroke rehab. In this role, you will be collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and work alongside Physiotherapists, Social Work, and Allied Health Assistants.

**About the Team**

Allied Health is a department of the Waikato District that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetic, Audiology & New Born Hearing screening, Social Work, and Psychology services. Staff within these professions are all involved in direct client care and work in a wide range of situations to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they work with. Allied Health staff work in partnership with individuals and their family/whanau to facilitate relationships and a smooth journey through the healthcare system.

**About you**

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:

- At least 12 months post qualification experience and ideally experience with the Ministry of Health funding process, however will consider new graduate OTs
- Rehab experience
- Sound clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
- Effective time management, prioritisation and organisation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary setting
- Full driver’s licence
