We are searching for a knowledgeable and dynamic Health and Safety Lead to take charge of the HSEQ for a large global facilities management organisation.

You will lead the HSEQ activities across all of NZ and will report directly to the HSEQ GM for Australia and New Zealand. You will have proven management capability and will be supported by a highly skilled H&S Administrator whist providing quality guidance and mentorship.

In this role you will provide Health and Safety leadership by partnering with business leaders and by influencing workers to support the implementation of agreed health and safety goals and initiatives. You'll be responsible for promoting and delivering best practice Health and Safety processes, systems and practices, with the key focus being to partner with the business to provide advice, guidance, and assistance. You will need to be flexible in your approach to support the diverse range of stakeholders. This is a hands-on role, and our ideal person will be able to hit the ground running, have an inquisitive nature and the ability to adapt to new environments.

You will need to demonstrate your knowledge of good risk management principles and knowledge of best practice OSH management systems based on credible references such as 31000, 45001, 14001 and 9001, and any applicable legislation.

About You
- Proven ability to embed a Health and Safety operating system and support project teams to deliver best practice and strong employee engagement.
- Capable of developing strong relationships and act as a coach, mentor and guide to support staff to perform in the safest manner at all times.
- Ability to coach and guide staff to improve their technical competence in safety system requirements.

Your training and experience will include the following:

- Experience in best practice auditing
- Understanding of ISO standards 9001/ISO 45001/14001/31000
- Investigation skills
- Member of NZISM - minimum technical (or HASANZ member)
- Understand principles of good injury management practices
- Worker engagement processes
- Skilled in completing risk assessment
- Train the Trainer
- Working at Heights
- HSNO training and or experience
- Minimum OSH diploma qualification
