**Commercial Acceleration Leader**

Reporting to the NZ CEO and embedded in the Mercer business, the purpose of this position is to broaden our service offerings and increase representation of those service offerings within our client base. The Mercer business offers Health, Wealth and Career solutions and this role will enable clients to access the full suite of Mercer offerings as well as tapping into the wider Marsh McLennan operating companies (OpCo) offerings.

Work with the existing sales and business teams to identify opportunities to grow the lines of business and in particular to identify and lead cross business line opportunities with new and existing clients. This includes the identification and successful pursuit of cross-Lines of Business (LOB) and cross-OpCo opportunities to deliver the whole firm in order to meet strategic commercial objectives and drive a differentiated client experience.

- Lead and drive the identification and successful pursuit of cross-LOB and cross-operational company opportunities to strengthen and deliver an integrated value proposition market that positions Mercer as a professional services firm with best-in-class capability to deliver across Health, Wealth & Career.
- Lead the development of Mercer’s overall sales operations strategy, ensuring alignment between Mercer’s NZ Pacific and Global sales strategy and provide oversight and input into the development of each Business Area’s (e.g., Investments) sales operations strategy.
- Maintain a servant-leadership mentality to support and enable colleagues across Mercer Pacific and provide an enterprise-wide lens to assess whether certain opportunities are within the organisation’s best interests (Go vs. No-go decisions).
- Responsible for driving commercial effectiveness by ensuring that Mercer NZ is appropriately using the resources provided by the Sales & Commercial Acceleration function (e.g., MercerForce, BBE,CEMs, CALP, etc.) and working with the business to negotiate with clients.
- Lead the Client Experience Meetings process to assess client experience with Mercer NZ to identify strengths and weaknesses, report back to the business and improve the overall sales process and client experience.
- Ensure the provision of the “voice of the client’ by driving a client-centric value proposition across Mercer NZ when engaging with clients and creating exceptional client experiences.
- Provide input into the design of new products (including pricing models) in response to market demand and identified commercial opportunities, in collaboration with Mercer NZ’s products team.
- Deliver insights and analytics to enable rapid flow of information and quicker decision making for the successful creation and execution of Sales & Growth activities across Mercer NZ.- Lead the development of and present reports globally (i.e., to Mercer Global) and locally (PLT, Mercer NZ LT) relating to Mercer NZ’s sales and commercial performance.

**What you need to have**:

- 15+ years of sales experience with large and mid-market clients with expertise in the NZ financial services market and regulatory regime
- Proven abilities and record of achievement in the following areas.
- Significant experience prospecting, negotiating, and closing sales pursuits
- Selling and sales strategy skills, including the ability to close opportunities
- Determination of prospective business opportunities, structure and deliver integrated offers and sell value as well as manage large, complex sales and long sales cycles.
- Building and developing senior client relationships including the development, negotiation and administration of long-term contracts.
