An exciting
opportunity has opened up for Nurse Practitioners (NPs) to work part time in
our Acute Care stream.
The Acute Care
stream is for patients who are seeking health care for minor injuries, illness,
and single system presentations.
This role will be of
particular interest to Nurse Practitioners currently working in the Urgent Care
environment, who are looking to expand their skill set and emergency care experience
in a supported environment where NPs are well embedded into the clinical team.
Bringing your valuable
urgent care knowledge and skillset to the Emergency team would be key to linking
patients into appropriate community health channels.
Our Nurse
Practitioner - s contribute positively to the patient experience in our
department, providing effective evidenced based clinical management across the
life span. They promote advanced nursing in emergency care and provide support
and role modelling for their registered nurse colleagues.
We have a variety of
options available for you from permanent to fixed term (minimum of three
months) and hours ranging from 18 to 36 hours per week or two to four shifts
per week. Primarily these shifts would
be late morning to early evening.
The salary scale is
Senior Designated Nurse Grade 6 (formerly Grade 8).

- Registered
as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a
current APC
- Recent
experience working in New Zealand Urgent Care or Emergency Department
setting
- Demonstrated
ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
- Initiative,
solution focused with excellent time management skills and the ability to
effectively and efficiently complete tasks
- Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills and the proven ability to engage
people at all levels
- Ability
to share and demonstrate specialist knowledge and skillsMō mātou | About Us
