**About the Role**

The Payroll kapa (team) is a fundamental part of the HR Shared Services (HRSS) whānau (family). They tautoko (support) the largest workforce in the South Island ensuring we pay our kaimahi (staff) accurately, on time, every time. They - re hard-working and dedicated delivering their mahi (work) to high standards putting the kaimahi (staff) at the centre of what they do.

We are seeking a motivated Payroll Officer to join our Processing Team within our Payroll Department. This is a busy role where you will be responsible for development and delivery of excellent customer service experience, make timely and accurate payments to kaimahi (staff) of Te Tai o Poutini (West Coast) and Waitaha (Canterbury), maintain employee records and work closely with the HRSS kapa (team).

You will be responsible for:

- Setting up employee - s tax code changes, Kiwisaver, union deductions etc
- Calculating back payments, overpayments, parental leave payments, cash ups as per the Holidays Act and or different MECA
- Process and maintain time and attendance data
- Interpretation and extension of bulk timesheets, exception sheets, leave forms and other documents as required in accordance with employment agreements and the Holidays Act
- Coding of daily dated data and filing of payroll documents.
