Painting Trades Worker

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To plan, manage, co-ordinate and direct all painting aspects within walls and ceilings divisions; safely on residential or commercial sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Preparing, priming, sanding, sealing, patches and painting all type of surface, buildings and fixtures.
- Utilising types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, water-proofing and heat resistance finishes.
- Adjusting colours where necessary and utilizing enhanced finishing skills where appropriate.
- Operate, clean and maintain all painting equipment, including brushes, rollers and sprayers.
- Safely store and label all materials.
- Fill nail holes and cracks and with caulk putty, plaster, or other filler, using caulking gun and putty knife.
- Select pre-mixed paints or mix required portions of pigment, oil, and thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colours.
- Remove fixtures such as pictures and electric switch cover from wall prior to painting using a screw driver.
- Plastering works as required for duties.
- Plasterboard installation if required on remedial works jobs.
- Erection of mobile scaffolding as required
- Comply with all required health and safety regulations.
- Cleaning of vehicles and trucks
- Carry out any other duties as may be required from time to time.
- Train other employees or contractors as required.
- Assist supervisor with all aspects relevant to the interior and exterior painting division in accordance with the best trade practice and manufacturers specifications
- Preparing and maintaining all necessary documentation
- Develop project and worker schedules with Painting Supervisor
**Requirements**:
- At least 2 years relevant experience is required
- Must be physically fit
- With good communication skills
- With great attention to details
- A Certificate in Health and Safety is preferred
**Salary**: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 30 per week

- 8 hour shift
