Disability Information and Support - Te Pokapū Hāpai Huka Hauā is a student support service at the University of Otago - Te Whare Wānanga o Otāgo. Our role is to provide learning support, advice, advocacy and information to students who have a disability, impairment, injury or medical condition that affects their study.

Our vision is to work in partnership to promote an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity, promotes comprehensive academic support, and empowers individuals with impairments to achieve their full potential.

**_The role/Te mahi_**

Due to growth, we are now looking for an exceptional Student Adviser to join our close-knit and dynamic team. We are seeking a talented individual to work alongside students to develop learning support plans and facilitate the implementation of appropriate support services in a timely manner. You will liaise with academic and professional staff within the University, and also with external support agencies and organisations.

Disability Information and Support is a leader in the field of disability support in tertiary education and prides itself on providing expert advice and high-quality learning support that contributes to ensuring students have an outstanding University experience.

**_Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako_**

To be successful as a Student Adviser you will have:

- Experience engaging effectively and positively with diverse communities and in particular with people who have an impairment.
- Knowledge and awareness of current disability issues and relevant legislation would be advantageous.
- A qualification and/or relevant experience working in the social service, disability, health or education field.
