**Mō tēnei mahi | About this job**

Do you believe in the potential of young people? Are you passionate about helping rangatahi navigate life’s challenges and discover new pathways to a brighter future? We’re looking for a dedicated Coach - Youth Services to join our team and make a real difference. This is a **permanent,** **full-time** (37.5 hours per week) position, based in **Hamilton.**

As a **Coach - Youth Servies,** you will work closely with rangatahi providing personalised, wrap around support, to help them step confidently into education, training, or work-based learning.

This is not your average desk job - it’s hands on, heart-led, and deeply rewarding. You’ll build trusted relationships, walk alongside young people through life’s ups and downs, and celebrate their milestones as they move towards independence and success. You will also:

- Welcoming rangatahi into the Youth Service and supporting their enrolment
- Carrying out strengths-based assessments and creating tailored plans focused on education, training, or employment goals
- Connecting rangatahi to services, opportunities, and resources that remove barriers and build confidence
- Providing regular, intensive one-on-one support to ensure rangatahi stay engaged and empowered on their journey

**Mōu | About you**

The ideal person is empathetic, culturally grounded, and driven to uplift rangatahi by building strong relationships, navigating barriers, and guiding them toward meaningful opportunities.

You will also bring with you:

- Bachelors degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field
- Certificate in Youth Work (Level 4)
- Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver’s License
- 4+ years’ experience in social services, education, or a similar field
- 2+ years’ experience facilitating group sessions or workshops
- 4+ years’ experience working with Māori and/or Pasifika communities
- 4+ years’ experience providing intensive case management or mentoring for rangatahi
- Confident using social media platforms to connect with and engage rangatahi

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
