What you'll be doing | He aha tāu e mahi ana
As the National Manager Voting Services, you will lead the innovation, scoping, design, implementation and delivery of all resources required to deliver Parliamentary electoral events and referendums successfully. This includes the three-yearly General Election, one of the biggest logístical exercises undertaken nationally in New Zealand.
The team you lead will vary in size depending on the stage in the electoral cycle, however the functions within your group will include:
- Manage a programme of work to successfully deliver voting services - Leading collaboration between team members to ignite cross-organisational cooperation towards electoral event delivery.
- Innovation in Voting Services - Make recommendations on the readiness of the Commission for the implementation of inventions and advances in voting technology and systems.
- To collaborate and lead across the Operations Group - Lead and contribute to steering groups or other governance structures and assist with the management of complex projects, and to lead the Voting Services team to successfully turn strategic objectives into effective, fit-for-purpose operational plans and actions.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Operations and as a member of the Senior Management Group, you will have a shared responsibility to drive and deliver on strategic priorities.

- You will have extensive project management skills and a high level of knowledge of programme and project management disciplines, and proven delivery in a compliance and regulatory environment.
- You will need a comprehensive understanding of the Public Sector environment and a demonstrated understanding of policy and regulatory processes, including Government decision-making and operating procedures.
- You need to have an ability to think strategically and analytically and to translate ideas and concepts into concrete actions as well as to be flexible enough to adapt quickly within a fast-paced environment.
- Bring your proven leadership ability, including experience in leading and maintaining high performing teams
- Proven experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders
- Ability to identify and appropriately manage high profile risks.
