We are looking for an Intelligence Analyst in our Competition Branch. This is a permanent role based in our either Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
You will join the newly created Competition Intelligence team that will play a key role in helping the Competition Branch to keep abreast of current and emerging issues, improve its understanding of markets and help it to make informed decisions on what action(s) can be taken to reduce harm.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of the intelligence work programme for the Competition Branch. You will also create insights and intelligence reports and presentations for an internal audience including Commissioners, the Commission's Senior Leadership Team, and the Competition Branch leadership team. You will also provide support to project teams conducting investigations in our Cartels, Competition Investigations, Market Studies and Mergers teams.

A skilled researcher and highly analytical, you will have experience in research and intelligence analysis as well as a sound understanding of research and intelligence methodologies and data analysis tools. You will be a strategic thinker, who can think about how market trends, changing business models and consumer behaviours may translate to issues of concern for the Commission.
You'll be proactive and solutions-focused and be able to think, write and communicate clearly. You will be inquisitive with sound critical thinking skills and be comfortable presenting to stakeholders at all levels. You will be a team player who thrives in a high paced work environment where your innovative approaches will be supported. Ideally, you will have a degree in an analytical discipline.
