Senior Commercial Cleaner

Due to growth, we are looking for a senior commercial cleaner (or cleaners) for 30-40 hours per week. We pay above normal industry pay rates.
This role would suit an experienced and committed commercial cleaner whose dedication to detail and whose trustworthiness is unquestionable.
**Shift and schedule**: due to customer requirements - must be flexible to include weekends, day and night work - and public holidays (although appropriate stand-down periods between shifts will of course apply.)
**Job description / Responsibilities**:
- Often working autonomously but needing to converse professionally with clients and their staff when needed. (Communication skills and presentation are therefore important.)
- You are responsible for performing cleaning duties to a consistently high standard - and to be able to assist others in maintaining these standards. This includes having the judgement to expand the scope of cleaning should obvious areas / items be needed.
- The role requires physical stamina for tasks such as standing, bending, and lifting so will assist the incumbent’s current fitness.
- Duties will include performing regular cleaning tasks, including sweeping, vacuuming and mopping hard floors and to maintain a clean and sanitary environment - especially in bathroom and kitchen areas.
- You will adhere to our hygiene and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for us and our clients.
- Be responsible to inspect and order replenishment of cleaning and hygiene supplies.
- Utilise your excellent communication, problem-solving and attention to detail skills - to handle issues that arise on the job.
- Having a “can do” attitude that is customer focussed in resolving customer issues.
**Requirements**:
- A strong and physically fit person
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle - as it will involve travel to various sites and times in the greater Christchurch area. (A kit of gear is needing to be taken.)
- Be able to show pride in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience in supervisory or team leading in an organization
- Must have strong awareness of normal health & safety protocols in the workplace and be able to demonstrate this.
- Must remain drug free (and be able to pass tests in this regard) and be alcohol free.
