**About the role**
Operate CNC plotter and software to cut carbon prepreg, glue film, cork and other materials.
Transact materials and production orders through the ERP system.
Handle the different stock materials. Practice good tracking of materials and inspect it for faults.
Undertake a dynamic workflow to support the wider company, while maintaining production targets
Where required help in the composite cleanroom laminating components or tooling.
Laminator:
As part of the Production team at Rocket Lab, the Composites team is responsible for building and assembling numerous parts of the Electron rocket. You will undertake aspects of Composite lamination required during production. Laminating components used inside pressurised cryogenic propellent tanks, right the way through to Structural components of the vehicle 'chassis', always adhering to Rocket labs high standards of Quality, and secondly meeting the schedule demand set out by the production leadership team.
As a Technician, you will be hands on, working with tools, equipment and/or facilities to build, launch or test Electron launch vehicles or components. Your responsibilities contribute to the overall production and launch
schedule.
**Essential skills**
Plotter:
- Have moderate Microsoft Office and PC skills.
- Be capable of lifting min 25kgs.
- Running Basic Plotter Programs initially and introducing advanced features

- Willing to assist your team members when needed, Pro-active about seeking
work to help the team reach their deliverables
Laminator:
- Precision Lamination skills of prepreg systems
- Precision Lamination skills of Tooling Prepreg systems
- Knowledge of Bagging for oven and Autoclave cures
- Basic Hand tool skills
- Produce a laminate by vacuum bagging for composites
- Produce a cord laminate item
- Produce an open mould from a plug pattern
- Repair damaged or faulty composite items
- Select, use, and care for hand tools used in the marine or composite industry
- Select, use, and care for portable power tools used in the marine or composite industry
- Perform measurements and calculations used in a marine or composite
workplace
