Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Urology Department at Te Toka Tumai is seeking a qualified Urologist with sub speciality interest in major open oncology or a generalist skillset to join their team. Ideally applicants would have participated in post fellowship training in uro-oncology or had a minimum 12 month experience working as a consultant surgeon in the uro-oncology field.
Applicants should be aware that Te Toka Tumai does not currently have a robotics programme so oncology procedures are done either laparoscopically or as open procedures. Applicants should be competent at performing. Experience in abdominal reconstruction of the urinary tract (cystoplasty, continent diversion), radical cystectomy and associated urinary diversion or reconstruction, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, percutaneous nephrolithotomies and open nephrectomy including caval thrombus resection post-renal transplant reconstruction would be desirable.
The successful applicant will be based at Auckland Hospital and Greenlane Clinical Centre, where elective surgery for the population of Auckland City is performed, as well as participating in the acute on call roster for the Auckland Region. Outpatient clinics and day surgery are conducted at Greenlane Clinical Centre. An interest in clinical research would be desirable.
