About our Team
Safe, Strong Families and Communities at MSD supports a wide range of programmes and initiatives aimed at preventing and reducing vulnerability and harm for individuals, whānau and communities. We also fund and manage several key relationships with the social services sector.
Our ongoing work programme currently has a big focus on leading MSD's response to family violence, sexual violence, building the financial capability of people in hardship, and improving access to services for rural and isolated communities.

About the Role
As a Lead Advisor, you will be responsible for delivery of the Accessible Family Violence and Sexual Violence Services (FVSV) for Disabled People project. This is a new initiative to support family violence and sexual violence providers to better meet the accessibility needs of disabled people and tāngata whaikaha. This initiative supports delivery of Te Aorerekura, the National Strategy to Eliminate Family Violence and Sexual Violence, by delivering on Action 29: Develop a plan to fill the service gaps for family violence, and Action 30: Develop a plan to fill the service gaps for sexual violence.
A key function of the role will be developing strong, collaborative relationships with other agencies, MSD teams, FVSV providers and specialist accessibility organisations to develop an approach that will deliver direct impacts for disabled people and tāngata whaikaha seeking FVSV support. The role will involve designing and administering a time limited fund that will both support FVSV providers to understand their current physical and digital accessibility for disabled people as well as to make improvements, and reporting on outcomes throughout the process. Hence, your experience in developing and implementing funding initiatives and stakeholder engagement will be critical to the role.

Skills and Experience
We are seeking an individual with relevant prior experience in community and social services, or government, and who has awareness and understanding of the lived and diverse experiences of disabled people. You will need excellent relationship management skills and be able to demonstrate how you have contributed to making your working environments great places to work. You will also be able to demonstrate your ability to develop practical solutions for complex problems with a focus on getting the job done

**To be successful in the role you will**:

- Have the ability to develop and lead service development and implementation processes
- Have excellent and well-demonstrated relationship management skills including working collaboratively, the ability to influence and manage the expectations of others
- Lead and manage reporting to governance, and contribute to the strategic development of communications and engagement approaches for key stakeholders across the FVSV sector, wider audiences, senior leadership etc.
- Have some experience and knowledge of government procurement and grant funding processes
- Have the ability to lead a complex piece of work in pursuit of a key outcome involving a wide range of stakeholders
- Have experience in leading work projects/programmes which give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Have the ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive team dynamic
- Be able to plan and manage delivery to agreed timelines
- Be an innovative thinker that can provide practical solutions to complex issues
