**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**: The Manager Software Engineering and Support has the opportunity to influence and shape the value of the Software Engineering and Support team by working in partnership with our customers to support their business enablement.
The role makes significant contribution to the overall effectiveness of our delivery capability through the leadership, management, direction and development of a team of skilled software engineers and support analysts which in contribute to the success of our technology programmes. The team of specialist resources, support and maintain a number of business systems in addition to having a lead role in the development of the development and implementation of MBIE’s build, quality and security standards and technical governance of MBIE’s Microsoft Azure, DevOps, CI/CD core pipeline to support the deployment of solutions.

- In depth technical experience in software development and delivery, particularly in modern software development practices.
- Experience in working collaboratively with multiple internal and external project teams.
- Ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and develop trust and credibility with managers, staff, vendors and other stakeholders.
- Proven ability to effectively direct, coach and motivate a team of software and support engineers and analysts.
- Proven ability to proactively lead and build a sense of common purpose across the Software Engineering and Support team, actively looking for opportunities to build engagement and commitment within the group and across MBIE.
