As a Senior Compliance Officer here at Waka Kotahi, you will need to bring your adaptable people and communication skills, resilience, along with your out of the box thinking. This is a great opportunity to undertake meaningful work in a collaborative environment. This is a busy and varied role. You will monitor and examine commercial transport operators, commercial driver licence and endorsement holders and produce robust reports for Operators and Waka Kotahi. Though you will be based in Invercargill or Dunedin, travel is a key part of this role as you will be regularly engaging with operators across Southland and Queenstown Lakes. If you are keen to make a genuine contribution towards the lives of Kiwi's, and have the values that we are looking for, we are keen to hear from you Ko koe tēnei | About you This role will draw on your experience and ability to build relationships and influence commercial transport operators, through a range of interventions. You will be a strong people person, able to have uncomfortable conversations while focusing on the best levers to achieve regulatory compliance. To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Experience in auditing and/or investigation
- Ability to influence positive safety outcomes across a diverse industry
- The ability to adapt your approach to different situations to get the best outcome
- The ability to build relationships and appreciate different points of view
- Strong communication skills
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
- Resilience and the ability to firm and fair
**Qualifications**:
- New Zealand Certificate in Regulatory Compliance (Core Knowledge) or equivalent is desirable
