**ABOUT THE ROLE**

As the Deli Assistant Manager you're assisting in leading the Deli team daily to achieve departmental KPI’s, make customer driven decisions and support the team in delivering an outstanding customer experience. You will also be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, stock levels, leading the team and take on departmental training so that our customers receive an outstanding shopping experience. Some of the key areas for the role will be:

- Engaging customers with an awesome shopping experience which includes offering inspiring meal solutions
- Ensure sales and GP targets for the department are met or exceeded. Monitor sales and create opportunities to increase on last year. Maintain 100% price integrity in the department.
- Supervise the production of instore made products and making sure they are of the highest quality
- Ensure all machinery in the department is maintained on a regular basis.
- Control ordering for department through effective use of the in-store purchasing systems. Ensure range matches the format and customer service requirements whilst optimizing stock holding levels and stock turn.
- Control and analyze all department costs. Manage credits in a timely and tidy fashion to minimize waste and reduce loss.
- Roster to always ensure adequate staff levels, keeping in line with wage percentage targets.
- Assist in recruitment of all team members into the department.
- Ensure all team members receive an appropriate induction / orientation to the department and receive appropriate ongoing training support. Train the team members as required.
- Assisting in department cleaning where necessary.
- Support the department in complying with our food control plan and health and safety program.

**ABOUT THE CANDIDATE**
- Previous experience in leading a small team is a MUST
- Experience working in a FMCG, fresh food or food retail environment
- Good basic math skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask to consistently meet deadlines
- Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role
- Comply with our food control plan / health and safety program
- Right to work in New Zealand
