GROCERY ASSISTANT - PERMANENT FULL TIME

Shifts: Tuesday to Saturday 2.30pm am

We have a team of over 170 highly passionate and dedicated individuals that make sure our customers get a great customer experience, which is why we are looking for a passionate, customer focused, Grocery Assistant to support our Grocery department in the evenings as well as keep up with on shelf availability for our customers.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Grocery Assistant, your primary role is to assist in the day-to-day running of the grocery department to ensure that sufficient quantities and range of products are available for sale at the correct price at all times during opening hours as well as ensuring the department is well merchandised, clean, tidy and attractively presented. Some of the key areas for the role will be:

• Filling designated areas and facing up appropriately with a minimum level of disruption to customers.
• Undertaking additional housekeeping as required (e.g. sweeping the floors, dealing with spillages and breakages, cleaning shelves etc.)
• Ensure the displays / shelves are appropriately stocked and relevant merchandising standards are maintained at all times.
• Effectively resolve all customers related enquiries and complaints unless management approval is required.
• Ensure appropriate stock rotation policy adhered to.
• Ensure the aisles are kept clear of rubbish and blockages at all times allowing for clear customer access.
• Other tasks across the store as required.
• Follow Health and Safety Policy, Food Safety Policy and compliance procedures in the store.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

Here is what we are looking for in the ideal candidate:

• Retail and Customer Service experience is a must
• Supermarket experience is ideal
• Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels
• Comply with our food control plan / health and safety programme
• Right to work in New Zealand
