We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Technician to join our Specifi team in Christchurch. We’ll start developing your design skills from day one, as you gain experience working across our interesting range of residential projects.

What is Specifi? Specifi is an online engineering software, which enables our users to carry out structural designs for residential houses, ranging from foundations to beams, portal frames, lintels, and cantilever posts.

**About the role**

As a Structural Technician within our Specifi team we will support, develop and establish your knowledge across residential projects, ranging from architecturally designed bespoke homes to structural alterations.

Working within our Specifi team you will support our online users with their designs, carry out checks and quality assurance (QA) on designs. On completion of the projects, issue Producer Statement (PS1), Licence Building Practitioner Statement (LBP), and full set of structural drawings for Building Consent and construction.

You will be working with the wider Residential Structural team on engineering design and will effectively contribute to:
- Quality Assurance (QA) on designs from our Specifi Users
- Preparing fee proposals for Specifi projects
- Communicating information to the design team and checking that the documents reflect the design
- Undertaking site inspections and investigations of simple structures with support
- Establishing design criteria and preparing preliminary and detailed designs
- Project administration and management
- Working with our design teams including engineers, draughting and external consultants and clients

**About you**
- Qualified with a Civil Engineering Diploma with focus on Structural; BTech in Structural Engineering, or equivalent qualification
- Adaptable with a keen eye for detail, excellent planning, organising and time management skills
- A natural problem solver, with a positive attitude and willingness to grow
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients, as well as lead and contribute to project delivery Enjoy working in a team environment and communicating with a wide range of people
