**What we do**
The MidCentral district provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people. MidCentral employs more than 2,500 people and has a large hospital campus at Palmerston North delivering care to the MidCentral district and to neighbouring communities.
**The Opportunity**
The Clinical Engineering Service is a sub-regional service between MidCentral and Whanganui Districts. The service provides asset management and clinical engineering services for medical devices and systems, assuring the safety and reliability of clinical equipment.
**What you'll bring**
- Minimum 5 years clinical engineering experience.
- Minimum qualification - Diploma of Clinical Engineering or Electronics (NZQA Level 6).
- In-depth medical equipment repair and maintenance experience and knowledge (such as Ventilators, Physiological Monitors, etc).
- Electro-mechanical aptitude and fault-finding ability.
- Good understanding of medical devices and local standards.
- Ability to repair and maintain medical equipment.
- Ability to train, develop and mentor other staff members.
- Registered Electrical Appliance Serviceperson with a current practising certificate. (Can be acquired within first year of employment).
- A high level of integrity and commitment to the preservation and strategic life cycle management of DHB assets.
- The ability to relate to a wide variety of people with consideration and diplomacy.
- Highly customer focused and service orientated with a desire to make a positive difference.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
We are looking for someone with previous experience in the healthcare sector and the right ‘can do' attitude demonstrated by an ability to respond positively to a changing working environment and fluctuating workloads.
The salary for this position will as per the PSA/DHBs Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical MECA from NZ$59,035 - $85,992 pa proprotionate to hours worked.
