Applications are invited for suitably qualified Consultant Anaesthetists to join our theatre services team for a 12month, fixed term period.

We operate over two main sites North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals, as well as the Elective Surgery Centre and Totara Haumaru with a wide range of clinical sub specialities (excluding, cardiothoracic, vascular, Neuro)

We offer a large variety of clinical work, an Acute Pain Service, an Anaesthetic Pre-admission Service and busy Obstetric Units in both hospitals.

There is a significant acute workload, usually requiring specialist cover on site in the evenings and weekend days to support the Registrar and Senior House Officers. This is covered by an on call roster. Working on this roster is to be discussed with the Clinical Director.

The FANZCA or equivalent is required, and registration with the New Zealand Medical Council is essential.
