- ** About the Role**
- Enjoy the benefits of working in a regional hospital, gain procedural experience, with a supportive team of consultants, senior registrar house officers, junior registrars and medical students and nursing staff.
- Registrars will be based at Rotorua and Taupō Hospitals during their RHM training programme. Rotorua is a secondary base hospital providing a wide range of services including ED, medical and surgical specialties, ICU, Anaesthesia, O&G, Paediatrics and Psychiatry. Taupō is a Level 3 rural hospital with a 24/7 ED, 15 bed inpatient unit and various day stay and outpatient services. All required runs for RHM training are accredited by the DRHMNZ.

Available positions for the Lakes RHM Training Programme include:

- Rural Hospital Medicine Registrar (Taupō)
- Emergency Medicine Registrar (Taupō)
- Anaesthesia Registrar (Rotorua)
- Can co-ordinate runs based in Rotorua for General Medicine, Paediatrics and Emergency Medicine

**About the Location**
- By joining Health New Zealand Lakes, you will become part of a young, dynamic team of health professionals across Taupo and Rotorua hospitals and community sites during your four-year training. Health New Zealand Lakes will ensure you are allocated placements in your required and elective runs to gain your FDRHMNZ including support for your academic training components and required courses. Through your training, you will develop the skills, experience and collegial relationships to work as a Rural Hospital Medicine Specialist at Taupo Hospital.
- Lakes is a geothermal wonderland and is also home to several scenic lakes, including Lake Taupō, the largest lake in New Zealand. Rotorua and Taupō are the go-to places for hiking, mountain biking, and water sports; you can also dive into traditional experiences and learn more about Māori culture in the region.

**About you**

You will have:

- a minimum of two years' post qualification experience, and a keen interest in providing acute and general medical care to our community.
