**About the Role**

As a member of the Communications team, you’ll work closely with the Corporate Planning and Reporting and Strategy teams, to develop clear and engaging copy that supports the delivery of the Council’s annual plans, quarterly and annual reports, long-term plans, strategy documents and other corporate documents.

As Kāpiti Coast District Council is a relatively small organisation and works as a close-knit team. You will be well versed at building and maintaining relationships across the business, working closely with others to prepare engaging internal and external executive communications.

**What you will bring**

To be successful you will;
- Bring exceptional writing skills with the ability to collate and distil a wide variety of information into concise, clear, and easy-to-read narratives to help drive a story.
- Have demonstrated experience as a corporate communications writer or bring a background in communications or journalism.
- Be a confident and competent individual who isn’t afraid to challenge others in a well-considered way, when it comes to developing clear and accessible copy and the use of language.
- Bring their presence, intellectual capacity, and confidence to interact with the business and support initiatives.
- Ideally bring knowledge of te Reo Māori to help advance and strengthen the use of te Reo Māori in Council’s corporate planning and reporting and strategy documents.
