**About the role**

The Chemical Applicator is responsible for controlling various weed species around the edges and structures within our parks and open spaces.

This role will also undertake the management of pest plant species, broadcast spraying of amenity turf areas and insecticide spraying of amenity plants & turf.

In addition, this position may also be required to undertake the day-to-day tasks required to maintain a range of specialist amenity features including but not limited to; gardens, premier parks, juvenile trees and revegetation areas, within the streets, reserves and open spaces of the Rotorua Lakes District.

**About you**
- Drivers Licence - Class 1
- Growsafe Standard
- Must have sound basic mathematics skills
- Proven capability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated
- Understanding and commitment to hazard identification and risk assessment
- Be physically fit,
- Positive, punctual and reliable

**Desirable Attributes**:

- Experience operating motorized equipment, including gun and boom.
- Experience operating small machinery, including chainsaw and scrub bar.
- Experience meeting a required set standard and specifications.
- Experience operating four-wheel drive vehicles and driving on uneven terrain.
