HELP Auckland provides crisis intervention, advocacy, counselling, and support to survivors of sexual abuse, and their families.
Our Crisis Team, based in Mt Eden, is looking for a caring Referrals Coordinator with a high level of written and verbal communication skills. As Referrals Coordinator you will play a vital role in assisting with the efficient, effective, consistent and timely managing of incoming and outgoing referrals.
The successful applicant will be highly organised, adaptable to new databases and skilled in completing initial assessments for therapy clients. Working closely alongside our team of highly committed crisis response Counsellors, Social Workers, Court Support Specialist and Therapy team is also necessary.
One on one experience with clients, understanding of trauma informed and client focused care will give you an added edge. A clear understanding of professional ethics and high level of confidentiality, along with an understanding of self-care practices and the need for resilience and professional boundaries in the sexual violence sector is also preferable.
**Relevant experience / skills required**:
- An understanding and awareness of the personal, social and political issues impacting upon survivors.
- Relevant qualification and experience necessary
- Sound risk assessment skills
- Well skilled in keeping client records and proficient at using and understanding online database systems, including data entry and reporting
- Excellent written, verbal communication and administration skills
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- Have an understanding and appreciation of teamwork and team dynamics
- Ability to work in high stress crisis situations and negotiate competing needs
- Good networking and relationships building skills
- Articulate thinking around feminist philosophy
- Demonstrate commitment to Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
