We are looking for 2 Qualified Bakers to join our busy team here at New World Te Rapa.
- Are you passionate about baking
- Are you creative
- Great understanding of Food Safety and Health and Safety Policies.
- Are you a Qualified Baker with NZQA Level 3,4 or 5 baking qualification or similar/equivalent
- A minimum of 4 years industry experience
- Can you turn great ideas into reality
- Are you friendly and customer focused with a can do attitude
- Do you have the ability to work within a team environment as well as unsupervised
- Are you flexible to work non rostered shifts
- Can work between 40 - 50 hours per week

Tasks will include but are not limited to:

- Baking, icing and decorating cakes for customer orders as well as for display.
- Baking required daily levels of bread, rolls and other bread products.
- Producing other bakery specific products as required (e.g. scones, muffins, pies, pizzas, cookies etc.)
- Merchandising the product in the department and ensuring effective stock rotation through the monitoring of best before dates.
- Receiving inwards goods. - Other tasks across the store as required. - Enhance the image of the department by implementation of agreed standards of display and presentation of stock.
- Follow Health and Safety Policy, Food Safety Policy and Compliance Procedures in the store.
- Ensure Food Safety standards are maintained through completion of appropriate daily, weekly and monthly cleaning of tins, trays and ovens.
- Undertake temperature checks on the case and ingredients (e.g. egg pulp) on a regular basis.
- Complete the traceability forms as required.

We are looking for someone to fill the role of Baker who has high personal presentation standards, a high degree of self motivation and excellent numeracy and communication skills. The successful applicant will also need to have the desire to excel, the ability to use their initiative, and the drive and enthusiasm for the position. Reporting to the **Bakery Manager,** you will be responsible for helping to ensure the department runs smoothly and all appropriate targets are met or exceeded.
