To ensure we continue to deliver on this promise we are looking for an **Assistant Transport Manager **to join our team in Palmerston North at our new PNRDC.

**About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
Reporting into the Transport Manager - PNRDC, you will be supporting them in working with our carrier partners, DC’s and stores to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of our store orders.

In your new role your focus will be to:

- Support the operational rhythm for the supply chain and ensure the flow of work is maintained across DCs, transport and store network
- Ensure all carriers forecast, plan ahead and schedule all work for the day in advance
- Investigate service failures and implement corrective actions
- Manage the ULD account
- Maintain relationships with DCs, Retail Operations and other stakeholders
- Inspire carriers to strive to raise safety benchmarks and ensure compliance with contracts is achieved
- Assist to drive operational performance and efficiency
- Share leadership within the Transport team

**About You | Mōu
This role will suit someone who has an understanding of the NZ FMCG industry and a detailed understanding of Supply Chain logistics and the movement between the DCs and transport within a retail environment.

To really thrive in this role you will:

- Have excellent written and oral communication, a master communicator
- Competent in MS excel and Google sheets
- An understanding of the NZ FMCG environment, DC experience or a Supply Chain background
- Demonstrate good planning, be effective in problem-solving and have an eye for detail
- Have the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrate an analytical aptitude
- Experience in working in a leadership role
