Karori Medical Centre is a large primary care practice that requires both a full-time and part-time Practice Nurse to join the nursing team. We are keen to hear from both Registered and Enrolled nurses who want to work in a stimulating primary care environment, where nurses are supported to provide expert, patient centred nursing care. Professional development is prioritised and career goal setting is encouraged at Karori Medical Centre. Our medical centre is Cornerstone accredited and committed to ongoing standards of excellence with nurse led clinics and opportunities for nurses to work to the top of scope. The practice is progressive and adaptive to new models and ways of working.

Hours can vary between 8am - 6pm Monday
- Friday, with some occasional Saturday morning and evening clinics. Work / life balance and ensuring our staff are both enabled and supported is very important to the management team at KMC. Hours and days of work may be negotiated with the successful applicants. In addition, we support post graduate learning and are committed to assisting nurses achieve Nurse Prescriber or Nurse Practitioner status should that be a goal. Nursing is valued at KMC and our nurses are paid at the same rates as hospital employed nurses.

Karori Medical Centre is situated in the heart of Karori, Wellington. Close to shops and other amenities and with free parking nearby.
- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- A current New Zealand Nursing Council Annual Practicing Certificate
- Legal Status to work in New Zealand
- A current CPR Certificate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of the wider healthcare team

The following skills are preferred but not essential as training and support will be provided:

- Experience working in a primary care environment
- Certified Vaccinator and Cervical Smear taker
- Experience in managing long term conditions
- Competent in the use of Medtech
