Working remotely requires a high trust relationship with your employer, so we are looking for someone with proven experience in remote working. It's not just carrying out inspections, you will also be delivering professional guidance and educating the industry on how and why we adhere to the Building Act. You will be responsible for: - Completing timely, accurate and concise site reports and inspection records in a manner that adhers to our Code of Practice, maintaining professionalism and consistency. - Verifying that the construction project reflects the approved consent documents and details approval - Providing guidance and/or resolving building issues from a building inspection perspective, liaising with other sections of Council as appropriate. - Resolving customer enquires and complaints - Ensuring your knowledge of the Building Act, Regulations, and Code is up to date. **What is required to be considered from this position?** - Proven experience working remotely using ZYTE for at least 2 years. - At least 2 years' of experience as a Building Inspector in a BCA - At least 3 years' experience in the building industry, preferably in a wide variety of New Zealand building projects. This could be experience in design, draughting, plumbing, drainage, construction, construction supervision or any combination of above - Possessing a National BCA Competency Assessment rating of no less than Res 3 - Ability to make and record appropriate decisions with regard to the building code performance clauses, using sound judgement, comprehensive research & clear reporting techniques. **What you'll get in return**: Enjoy flexible working, opportunity to progress and develop on the job.
