**Packaging Quality Technologist**

**Mangere Bridge, Auckland**

OJI Fibre Solutions is one of New Zealand's leading manufacturers and suppliers of packaging solutions to a wide range of industries throughout the country. Our customers include blue chip manufacturers and marketers of packaging products to the food, primary produce, industrial and grocery sectors.

Based at our Corrugated Case business in Mangere Bridge, Auckland, this role reports to the QA/Technical Manager.

You will be responsible for:

- Optimising and implementing processes and procedures for the effective management and improvement of the safety, quality and food safety management systems.
- Manage the customer complaint process and internal audits.
- Continuous improvement focus.
- Evaluating, isolating and placing in quarantine defective product due to fault or failure in-line.
- Leading and coaching production crews through problem solving exercises and improvement projects to resolve customer issues and internal issues.
- In-line testing, verification, data collection, analysis and KPI reporting.
- This a day shift role and will predominantly be on the floor with manufacturing.
- Managing the Quality Checker/Inspector who is working afternoon/night shifts.

To be successful you will need:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality assurance, control or compliance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding & experience using root cause analysis and other benchmarked methodologies.
- Experience handling customer complaints or non-conformance process.
- Process improvement and auditing experience in quality, food safety or similar risk management systems (e.g. environmental, health and safety).
- Experience working within a Lean Manufacturing or Operational Excellence environment
- Sound knowledge of Food Safety International standards (e.g. ISO)
- BSc or equivalent relevant Tertiary Qualifications advantageous
- Microsoft Word, Excel, databases - intermediate level
