We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Ministerial Advisor. You will be providing high level policy advice directly to the Minister across a range of portfolio responsibilities. This is a challenging and rewarding role which will give you an insight into the workings of the Executive Government of today.
All applicants must have an excellent understanding of existing government and public service protocols and processes. This role requires knowledge of political processes, political nous and the ability to contribute to policy proposals and submissions. Experience in responding to Official Information Act requests, parliamentary questions and drafting correspondence and briefings would be highly advantageous. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
The role of Senior Ministerial Advisor requires a high level of trust and self-management, allowing you to work independently while contributing to team results. It is essential you are able to keep the Minister and staff informed of issues that affect the workings of the Government.
Applicants must demonstrate a proven ability to effectively interpret a wide range of information and resolve complex issues under pressure. This role interacts with a variety of people, organisations and sectors so the right applicant will have the ability to quickly establish and maintain excellent working relationships.
A requirement of this role is that you are able to hold a National Security Clearance. There are certain criteria that must be met in this regard.
