Enza Zaden is a vegetable breeding company that develops vegetable varieties in a high-tech, international environment. As Team Lead R&D Operations, you contribute to this process by operating in the field, and overseeing various activities along the production chain.

In this role, you are the first point of contact for crop care and seed extraction. On a daily basis, you execute soil cultivation, pest and disease control, irrigation, fertilization, harvesting and seed processing. With your people skills and knowledge of crop production, you guide your team members through this process, to ensure that optimal progress is being made in our high-tech breeding programs. Enza Zaden is an international vegetable breeding organization. Simply said, this means we develop new vegetable varieties. Our assortment consists of 1.200 different varieties. From bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce to bitter gourd and bird’s eyes chillies. Enza Zaden produces the seeds of these vegetable varieties and sells them worldwide. To give you an idea: each seed of lettuce produces 20 billion crops of lettuce yearly.
