**Te Kowhiringa | The Opportunity**

The Asphalt Plant Supervisor will provide assistance to the Regional Production Manager by supervising the asphalt production activities at a plant level.

**The core responsibilities of the role will include;**

The Asphalt Plant Supervisor will use their experience of asphalt operations to ensure all production activities are undertaken in a safe, efficient and profitable manner, and will provide management and leadership to the plant team as well as assisting in some elements of commercial activity.
- Planning: Assist with plan of forward workload
- Business development: Build and develop relationships with customers.
- Procedures: All calibration and manufacturing procedures adhered to.
- Safety: All asphalt manufacturing and bitumen retail hazards identified and Eliminated, Isolated or Minimised.
- Operating plant: Ensure the asphalt plant is operated correctly, safely and all accuracies maintained.
- Administration: Report and discuss preventive / corrective actions with Regional Production Manager.
- Asset management: Ensure plant is kept clean and calibrations are carried out and ensure all routine maintenance/servicing is carried out and recorded.
- Financial: Monthly accounts show tracking to budget
- Quality control & risk management: All purchased materials meet required quality levels.
- Monthly management reviews (depot): Action items completed within allocated time frames.
- Close liaison with Regional Production Manager

Educations & Qualifications:

- Experience and competence in Asphalt Production operations.
- Proven management experience with responsibility and accountability for staff, plant and finances..
- Proven track record in developing a culture that supports SQE management, encouraging and rewarding excellence.
- Competency in operating wheeled loaders
- Preferrable to hold a tertiary qualification or equivalent in engineering, business management or a related field, skilled work experience may replace formal qualification
- Computer Literacy
