The Haumanu Reo ā-Waha Speech-language Therapy team at Christchurch Hospital would like to hear from new graduate Speech-language Therapists who are passionate about working in the health sector. Working in Te Waipounamu - s largest tertiary hospital - this is a great place to launch your career

We are a dedicated Speech-language Therapy team working to provide high quality evidence based clinical care and innovative practice in a fast-paced tertiary acute care environment. The Speech-language Therapy service offers a supportive team environment with experienced colleagues and a wide range of opportunities for continuing professional development. Our team provides services to all clinical areas in the acute hospital setting, as well as outpatient services in some areas. Instrumental swallowing assessments, including cough reflex testing, videofluoroscopy (VFSS) and Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) are embedded in our daily practice and there are opportunities to upskill in these areas.

This role is a rotational position, across both adult and paediatric clinical areas, where you will be mentored and supported by our experienced Speech-language Therapists who are truly passionate about what they do. Throughout the rotations you will develop your knowledge base and skill set to make meaningful contributions to the healthcare of a wide variety of patients.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Providing holistic and culturally safe Speech-language Therapy services within acute care and outpatient settings;
- Implementing assessment and intervention procedures according to Speech Language Therapy protocols and professional standards;
- Establishing and implementing treatment plans and interventions in consultation with the multi-disciplinary team, the patient and their family/whanau;
- Educating patients, their family/whanau, and the wider multi-disciplinary or interdisciplinary team on relevant information to facilitate wellbeing;
- Working with colleagues to implement quality improvement and patient safety initiatives to meet the strategic goals of the organisation.

- Self-awareness with strong reflective abilities and able to identify areas for growth and development;

- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills, along with flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to meet changes in clinical demands;
