**Speech Language Therapist**
- Permanent Full-time position available
- Fixed term (parental leave) part and full time positions available
- All roles are based in our Christchurch Office

**About this role**

Using your specialist speech language therapy skills and experience you will help maximise learning and promote social inclusion for children and young people with learning support needs.
- Make a real difference in children and young people's lives
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of dedicated professionals

**About you**

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

- The successful applicant will be able to work effectively across both school and early childhood sectors.
- The successful applicant will have a working knowledge of our Learning Support Delivery Model.
- Responsibilities will include working with children and young people, their parents, caregivers, whānau, educators and other Learning Support personnel in delivering speech and language services.
- Excellent teaming, interpersonal and communication skills are essential as is an ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Competence in Te Reo Māori me ona tikanga and be able to weave this expertise into the work of Learning Support as a speech language therapist.
- Skills in working with children with complex learning/communication needs and knowledge of the early childhood and/or school curriculum are an advantage.
- A full current driver's license is essential.

As speech-language therapy is a self-regulated profession through the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists' Association, **a**ll applicants must be eligible for NZSTA membership.**

Applicants who qualified through a New Zealand university programme are automatically eligible.

Overseas applicants who gained their speech-language therapy qualification outside New Zealand are only eligible if they have had their qualifications approved by NZSTA through **Mutual Recognition of Credentials Agreement (MRA)**or **Qualifications Approval Process.**

If you have not had your qualifications approved or are not in the process of having your qualifications approved, **_we will be unable to shortlist you for this position._**
